Teacher Training & Certification Program
On this path no effort is wasted, no gain is ever reversed; even a little of this practice will shelter you from great sorrow...However men try to reach me, I return their love with my love; whatever path they may travel, it leads to me in the end.
Bhagavad Gita: 2.40/4.11
Welcome to the Prague Yoga 270-Hour Teacher Training and Certification Program! Our program cultivates and sustains all Yogis (both teachers and non-teachers) seeking or already walking their individual paths. Our program supports the knowledge that each Yogi's path is determined and coloured by their individual experience, constitution and affinity.
Prague Yoga seeks both to train those contemplating careers as Yoga teachers and to provide continuing education for existing Yoga instructors. We are currently the only Yoga teacher training program in the Czech Republic that meets with the strict standards and guidelines required by the international Yoga Alliance. Graduates of our program are eligible to teach worldwide and may apply to Yoga Alliance to become 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teachers.
Our program is designed to enhance your own personal knowledge of Yoga and its many facets, while providing you with the confidence and skills necessary to safely and effectively teach Yoga within your prospective country or community. You need neither be a teacher, nor an aspiring teacher to attend this course. The study of Yoga is the study of Self and you will be encouraged to move with introspection and awareness into your own unique expression of Yoga.
It is my sincere hope that as Yoga practitioners and instructors you will develop or deepen the following sacred qualities in yourselves:
- Discover, explore and become passionate about a Yoga that best suits and complements who you are individually;
- Develop and enhance your own authentic voice and style of teaching through your own personal practice;
- Make your students' safety your number one priority by understanding, accepting and honoring your current abilities;
- Respect and have compassion for your students by respecting and having compassion for yourself;
- Accept lovingly the evolution and changing of your Yoga practice and teaching due to injury, age, health or other life circumstances;
- Walk your own path of eternal living, learning and growth with patience and awareness;
- Recognize the sacred role of Yoga teacher by trying to be a living example of Yoga to all.
Within this course we will focus on the specific Hatha (physical) Yogas which will include: Ashtanga Vinyasa, Back-Care, Iyengar, Mental Illness, Meridian, Prenatal, Restorative, Svastha, Vinyasa Flow & Yin. However, much of our program is also centered around Raja Yoga - the Yoga of the 8 Limbs. To this end, we will specifically focus on the first five limbs: Yama (social conducts), Niyama (individual conducts), Asana (physical poses), Pranayama (breath control) and Pratyhara (sense withdrawal).
Where your Yoga journey takes you depends entirely upon you. Ultimately, Yoga is the yoking or union of mind, body and spirit. However, our teacher training is not about fixed objectives and unyielding spiritual truths. Rather it is designed to provide individual guidance and support for your individually chosen path. Choose to delve deep into asana, pranayama or meditative practice; reflection, devotion or prayer; chanting or mantra; or studies of self or sacred text. But whatever path you choose - may it lead to peace, liberation and the manifestation of your highest self! Namaste.
Nonbeing can never be; being can never not be. Both these statements are obvious to those who have seen the truth. If you think that this Self can kill or think that it can be killed, you do not well understand reality's subtle ways. It never was born; coming to be it will never not be. Birthless, primordial, it does not die when the body dies.
